Dr. Cheryl King was awarded a grant in May, 2002 from the National Institute of Health for Youth Support Team Intervention for Suicidal Adolescents (YST). The purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of YST, the social network intervention for suicidal adolescents. The project period is from 2002-2007.

13th Annual Advances in Psychiatry Prevention of Depression: New Breakthroughs, New Translations November 15-16, 2001 Youth Suicide Prevention: Evidence-Based Assessment and Intervention, presented by Cheryl King, Ph.D.

Cheryl King, PhD, and her co-investigators at the University of Michigan Depression Center, Dr. John Greden and Anne Kramer, MSW, were awarded a grant in August 2001, to evaluate the long-term effect of the Youth Nominated Support Team (YST). Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation of Michigan (BCBSM) funded the grant entitled, “Innovative Treatment Enhancements for Depressed Youth.” The project began in September 2001. Cheryl King, PhD led a team to evaluate the progress of teens that previously participated in the YST study. The team evaluated the same teens' progress over a two-three year follow-up period.
