Laura RobertsLaura Roberts, MD, is the Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Stanford University School of Medicine, and the Editor-in-Chief of Academic Psychiatry. Dr. Roberts has spent most of her professional life in academia, with a strong emphasis on ethics and values in medicine, focusing on both clinical and research issues. She is a consummate educator. She has performed numerous empirical studies of contemporary ethics issues in medicine and health policy. She has written many articles and book chapters, and co-written a number of books on medical ethics, including Concise Guide to Ethics in Mental Health Care (2004). In 2010, Dr. Roberts received with the Association for Academic Psychiatry Lifetime Achievement Award. 

 

Dr. Roberts will also speak at the U-M Department of Psychiatry Grand Rounds "Ethical Considerations in Psychiatric Research"on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
