Target Audience

The program will target psychiatry faculty, medical students, residents, and allied health professionals, as well as other clinicians and health care providers who encounter substance abusing adolescents.

Goals and Objectives

After attending this program, participants should have an enhanced understanding of:

  • The childhood influences affecting risk for alcoholism and other substance abuse disorders
  • ADHD, sleep disturbance and substance use comorbidity and pharmacological management for adolescents
  • Empirically-validated brief intervention and multisystemic therapy treatment options for substance abusing adolescents
