Psychosomatic Medicine Training Sites
The training sites include the University of Michigan Health System and its affiliated hospitals and clinics, and the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System. Both training sites are located in Ann Arbor and are less than 10 minutes apart.
University of Michigan Health System (UMHS)
The diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders in complex medically ill patients is of vital importance to UMHS. Psychosomatic medicine fellows will gain experience in evaluating patients with a broad range of medical illness and co-morbid psychiatric, substance abuse, and/or behavioral disorders.
The VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System (VAAAHS)
The Ann Arbor VA has a longstanding relationship with the University of Michigan graduate medical education programs. Psychosomatic medicine fellows will gain experience in evaluating and managing psychiatric illness, including delirium, as well as other major psychiatric disorders in a setting of acute medical and surgical illness.
