Psychosomatic Medicine Program Description

The focus of the residency experience is to train residents to evaluate and treat psychiatric disorders in complex medically ill patients. The program provides a broad-based clinical experience, with a strong multidisciplinary emphasis, and opportunities to learn skills in research, education and administration, in an extraordinarily rich academic environment. At the end of this training, residents are expected to be compassionate, knowledgeable, and astute subspecialists fully qualified to take and pass the examination for certification in the medical subspecialty of Psychosomatic Medicine.
