Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship
Accepting applications for our ACGME-accredited Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Michigan and Ann Arbor VA Healthcare System (VAHS) for July 1.
Our one-year fellowship program (PGY-5) provides a broad-based clinical experience in inpatient, outpatient, and nursing home settings, with unique multidisciplinary emphasis, in an extraordinarily rich academic environment.
A two-year fellowship program option (PGY-5 & 6) is available to selected candidates and includes all clinical experience of the one-year program, plus a research training component (available in basic, clinical and health services research) designed to prepare the fellow for academic career. The University of Michigan has an NIH-funded Geriatric Research and Training Center and Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, as well as the nation’s first comprehensive academic Depression Center. The VA Ann Arbor Health Care System has the Geriatric Research, Educational and Clinical Center (GRECC).
Eligible candidates (for either program option) must have:
- Must have completed an approved U.S residency in Psychiatry;
- Must have successfully passed USMLE Step III prior to entry into program.
- Candidates with J-1 Visas are welcome to apply.
