Additional Educational Activities
A superb schedule of major conferences, grand rounds, and invited speakers occurs throughout the year. In addition, special residency activities are planned. The Resident Retreat occurs in the fall, typically featuring a community service project or camaraderie-building experience. Education Day is held in the spring, with guest speakers and intensive workshops to enhance the residents’ role as teachers.
The Albert J. Silverman Research Conference is an opportunity for residents and faculty to share with one another current research work and to hear from distinguished national speakers. The Albert Barrett Neurosciences Lectureship brings nationally recognized speakers to address leading edge reseach in neurosciences. Advances in Psychiatry is a topical program for faculty and community practitioners, focused on current clinical issues in the field. The Raymond W. Waggoner Lectureship on Ethics & Values in Medicine is an endowed lectureship featuring nationally-renowned figures in the field of medical ethics. Additional invited lectureships are also scheduled, including the Depression Center Colloquium Series.
