Wendy S. Yallop, LMSW
Wendy Yallop is an addictions therapist with University of Michigan’s Addiction Treatment Services (UMATS). Wendy received her Bachelors Degree in Family Studies from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1989, followed by a Masters Degree in Social Work from Sir Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario in 1993.
Prior to coming to UMATS, Wendy designed and coordinated a community-based intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment program for women at Odyssey Family Counseling Center in Atlanta, Georgia. As program coordinator her responsibilities included, staff supervision, grant administration and community outreach. Additionally, during her ten years with Odyssey Wendy provided therapy to families, couples, adults and adolescents struggling with addiction. Wendy also served as a social work liaison within the City of Atlanta municipal court system and provided therapy in hospital and residential settings in Ontario, Canada.
Areas of specialty include working with families and groups as a medium for addressing the challenges of addiction.
