About UMATS
Since 1990 Chelsea Arbor Treatment Center, a joint program of Chelsea Community Hospital and the University of Michigan Health System (UMHS), provided addiction treatment for the two medical centers. By mutual agreement and effective on June 1, 2006, this partnership has been dissolved. In its place, the new University of Michigan Addiction Treatment Services (UMATS) was established to continue the tradition of providing outstanding clinical care for people recovering from alcohol and other drug problems.
UMATS is located in the Rachel Upjohn Building on the campus of the East Ann Arbor Health Center at Plymouth and Earhart Roads.
