21st Annual Advances in Psychiatry

General Information

Registration

You are urged to register as soon as you are certain of attending, as we cannot guarantee educational materials or lunch for applicants who are not pre-registered and prepaid by October 22, 2009. Checks should be made payable to the University of Michigan (in US currency). Payments by American Express, MasterCard, and Visa are also accepted.

Cancellations

An administrative fee of $50 will be deducted from cancellation refunds. Refund requests must be received in writing one week prior to the course, no later than October 29, 2009. No refunds will be made thereafter.

Confirmation

Conference registrations will be confirmed by mail. If you do not receive confirmation, or if the information is in question, call the Registrar at 800-800-0666 or 734-763-1400.

Accreditation & Credit Designation

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the University of Michigan Medical School, the Michigan Psychiatric Society, and the Depression and Bipolar Alliance. The University of Michigan Medical School is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Michigan Medical School designates this educational activity for a maximum of 10.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. An application has been submitted to the American Osteopathic Association for credits. An application has been submitted, and an approval is pending, with the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative. Other credits by specialty may apply.

Recording the Program

Recording the program with battery-operated tape recorders not requiring podium microphones is permitted for the registrant’s personal use.

Detroit Metropolitan Airport is located approximately 25 miles east of Ann Arbor on I-94. There are several options for ground transportation to and from the airport. Taxicabs and rental cars are available at Detroit Metro Airport. The following transportation companies also offer round trip service from the airport:

Lodging

The hotel designated for this conference is The Dahlmann Campus Inn at 615 E. Huron Street. Reservations must be made by October 4, 2009. A deposit of the first night’s lodging (in US currency) must be mailed to the hotel or a major credit card number provided to secure reservations. On October 4, 2009 the excess rooms will be released and hotel reservations will be accepted on a space available basis. In order to qualify for the reduced conference rate, reservations must be made by calling the hotel directly and indicating registration with this course. Round-trip transportation will be provided between Campus Inn and Towsley Center on November 5, and in the morning only on November 6.

Towsley Center Parking

The Towsley Center is connected to and surrounded by the University of Michigan Medical Center. For maps and directions, please click here.

Once reaching the medical campus, you should park in the Patient/Visitor Parking Structure A nearest the main University Hospital entrance and Taubman Center. Take the elevator to Level 2 and follow signs to the Towsley Center.

Parking will be paid by the Office of Continuing Medical Education. Please bring your parking slip to the course registration desk for validation.
